Im Rahmen eines DFG-Stipendiums (Eigene Stelle) forscht Aruna Gamage an dem Projekt: Die frühen verlorenen Rechtskommentare der Mahāvihāra-Tradition: Ein Beitrag zur Entwicklung des buddhistischen Klosterrechts Sein primäres Forschungsinteressen gilt der Untersuchung der Hermeneutik von philosophischen und rechtlichen Texten (Abhidhamma und Vinaya), der buddhistischen Mahāvihāra-Schule.
